Neilmed’s Sinus Rinse, Pediatric, Complete Saline Nasal Rinse Kit

  1. S. Whitford Says:

My 6-year-old son and myself have both been using the NeilMed Sinus Rinse for nearly a year. I can’t imagine doing without it now, and I thank God that this simple, natural process can keep away the sinus infections and stuffy noses that we used to suffer from at least twice a year (actually, my son suffered from them even more often!)

My dear uncle introduced me to the Sinus Rinse and I was sold on it right away, but the kid’s bottle doesn’t seem to work well.

    THE PROS:

    - The whole Sinus Rinse procedure is fantastic and every parent should learn how to do this for the health of their whole family.

    - The nozzle is a wonderful size on the pediatric model.

    THE CONS:

    - The bottle on the child’s model doesn’t seem to be consistent in its delivery of the water stream into the nostril.

    - Both my son and I have had trouble getting more than half of the water out of the bottle.

    THE SOLUTION:

    - Get an adult sized NeilMed Sinus Rinse bottle, and then use the pediatric nozzle with it. You will notice the little tube will only go a little more than half-way down the bottle, but it is much easier to get the solution out and is just generally seems to be much more effective.

    - My six-year-old does this himself! I prepare the bottle for him so the water is just the right warmth, and I make sure and shake up the solution very good for him, but he actually delivers the solution in his own nose, and he actually does it two or three times in each nostril, which uses up half of the 8 oz. bottle.

I WISH NeilMed would produce a pediatric nozzle that will fit the adult sized bottle. I’d buy one in a minute. My son will GLADLY rinse his sinuses each night before bed during those times of the year when he starts feeling the mucous irritating his sinuses, and also in the mornings, although most mornings he doesn’t even need to. He hates to have a stuffy nose and I’m so glad he’s gotten accustomed to doing this so much that he seems to enjoy it as much as I do!
