If you have relied on processed food in the past and now are going to try cooking from scratch, you may find this book helpful. However, if you have always been cooking, this book is a big waste of your time and money. As another reviewer mentioned, all you have to do is get out your Joy of Cooking and omit whatever your child is allergic too from the recipe and you have this cookbook. The author’s tone is enthusiastic and good for her for trying to help others, but if you are egg/dairy/soy sensitive, find another cookbook because all the recipes contain one, if not all, of those three.

The cover of this cookbook says it contains recipes that are “Wheat Free , Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Nut Free , Egg Free and Low in sugar. ” To me that means that the recipes would not contain these indredients. The only promised ingredient I can’t find in the recipes so far is wheat. Most of the recipes contain diary or egg products and then offer suggested substitutions but these doesn’t help much, particularly when the substitutions simply mean omit or replace with soy – another allergen. It should be marketed as a Wheat-free cookbook with suggested substitutions. I feel as if I’ve been decieved and am more frustrated than I was before purchasing it.
